Living Learning Communities
花季视频 offers three exciting Living Learning Communities (LLCs) in the Lion鈥檚 Den Residence Hall. Each LLC has a floor reserved for each community.
LLCs are for first-year students who live on campus. Students accepted into an LLC will receive a $1,000 scholarship ($500 per semester) while funds are available, limit 20 per cohort. The three LLCs are The Myles Friedman Honors Program, Leadership, and Business and Entrepreneurship.
The priority deadline to sign up for an LLC is April 15 through the Fall Housing Application. Applications will still be accepted past the deadline.
- You will live in a community that bridges your academic interests to your new home.
- You will interact with like-minded peers.
- You will participate in programs, events, and initiatives specifically geared toward your LLC and only for LLC participants.
- Data shows our students who participate in an LLC are more successful academically, so you will be more likely to have a higher GPA and to persist to graduation.
- You will develop relationships through frequent contact with faculty.
- You will take a common workshop, class, or seminar with other LLC participants.
- You will enjoy study groups with students in the same classes as you.
- You will have networking and interaction opportunities with like-minded upper-class students.
- There's no extra cost!
- There are no GPA or test score requirements.
There is no additional cost to participate in an LLC. You pay the normal room and
meal plan rates, and the rest is included. Also, you will receive an additional $1,000
scholarship ($500 per semester) for your year of participation if you are accepted
to the LLC while funds are available. This is in addition to and compatible with any
other 花季视频 scholarship you may already be receiving, including housing scholarships.
Are you thinking of getting an apartment by yourself off campus? You may spend more
than you would on campus, plus there are huge benefits to living on campus:
- A nine-month academic year contract means you will not be locked into a long-term lease.
- All utilities, high-speed wired and wireless internet, laundry, and furniture are included.
- You may save time by enjoying your meal plan.
- You will have dedicated 24/7 staff for events, assistance, security, and more.
- You will have the shortest possible commute to classes and won鈥檛 spend time looking for a parking space.
- Your room and meal plan are billed to your 花季视频 student account so your financial aid may help cover the cost.
- Any 花季视频 merit scholarship covers at least 30 percent of your room cost.
We've crunched the numbers for you. Not including food, you will save about $100 per
month by living on campus. That is because our one rate includes electricity, water,
amazing internet, laundry, and all the amenities mentioned above. There are no hidden
fees and no worries about multiple bills a month.
- Apply for campus housing. The LLC application is part of the Housing Application.
- Register for Cub Camp.
- If you have any questions about the LLC or living on campus, please email housing@uafs.edu.
- The Cub Camp fee is waived for Honors, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Leadership LLC participants. The Business and Entrepreneurship LLC does not require Cub Camp participation, but it is highly encouraged.
The College of Business and Industry is proud to offer a Living Learning Community
for students interested in business and entrepreneurship. This community supports
student engagement, recruitment, and retention. Students will complete cohort first-year-level
business classes and participate in co-curricular programming centered on themes of
entrepreneurship and economic development, career and professional development, teamwork,
and societal impact. Students should expect to engage extensively with peer and faculty
mentors as well as business alumni and community stakeholders. This engagement will
be promoted through both social activities and professional development activities
such as visits to local and regional businesses, career exploration sessions, and
campus/community forums about current business news/events.
